Opening Your Door Of Opportunity
Welcome to our AWANA page. The AWANA kids club is an excellent way for your kids to learn about the Bible as well as team work, sportsmanship and confidence as they earn awards by simply reading and applying God's Word. Each Wednesday presents new challenges and offers more fun.
Hey guys! My name is Matt Swofford and I'm your AWANA Commander for Open Door Baptist Church. The AWANA leaders for Open Door and myself work hard to plan lots of fun every Wednesday night. We're planning more fun for this Wednesday coming up, but there's just something missing. Oh, I know, it's YOU!!! Come join us for the next club meeting and see how wild and crazy game time is. As well as how AWESOME the awards are. Don't miss out on fun events like crazy hair night or backwards/inside out night. Oh yeah and my personal favorite, the AWANA Grand Prix pinecar derby. I can't wait to see you!
PS: contact me at anytime with questions about our program. Thanks guys!
AWANA is a program for youth 3 years old through 6th grade that focuses on learning God’s Word in a fun atmosphere. Each week, AWANA provides consistent, positive teaching and training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. Our clubbers learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible.
A typical night at AWANA is broken down into 3 segments:
Every Wednesday night at 6:30 PM!

1) Game Time - Every AWANA meeting kicks off in high gear with lots of team competition. Organized games get all of the children to participate, unleashing natural energy & enthusiasm.
2) Handbook Time - AWANA training emphasizes the importance of God & His Word for sound living. Clubbers progress at their own pace through handbooks & earn rewards for every section completed. Clubbers will also have one on one time with leaders to help them under stand and learn the material.
3) Council Time - Council time begins with group Bible study & is followed by awards & recognition for individual handbook progress & points scored in team play.
